Light Falling (January 2013)

The soft snowfall we´ve been having here in England, reminds me of when I composed ´Light Falling´ (a piece for string orchestra & harp).

I compared the inspiration of an inner experience of light ´falling´ to that of snow falling lightly like soft downy feathers forming a new brighter landscape of light which was happening outside my window as I wrote the piece. I composed this after composer Geoffrey Burgon suggested I write a companion work to an earlier string piece ´Aurora´.
