This is an expanded and re-instrumentised version of a piece written in 2001 to be workshopped by the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group.  The musical ideas seemed rather to be shoehorned into the mixed quartet on offer.  So eventually, after some pushing around of the piece, the string quartet medium seemed appropriate, and it was extended to do more justice to the original ideas.  Duration 8´, 3 sections continuous.  Splendidly premiered at the 70th Birthday Concert, by the Astaria String Quartet.
