Originally Airs and Graces was supposed to be a set of pieces that I could play but it got rather out-of-hand and I struggle with some of the movements.  I have to confess that I´m mainly a self-taught pianist, having had only a year of lessons when at school, and my fingering is hopeless.  When composing these pieces I had a vision of the young ladies in period dramas who play to entertain their family and friends and I hope the various movements convey this.
