These three short songs were first performed on 21st June 1963 in the Stevenson Hall of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama as part of a concert of student compositions.

The work was performed by fellow students Roger Crook, tenor, and Anne Strachan piano.

In 2023, again at the Scottish Academy, now renamed the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and again by an RSAMD alumnus Jamie MacDougall and pianist Scott Mitchell, the work was recorded by Bob Whitney, sixty years after its first outing.
