Composed at the request of the Royal Forest of Dean Herbert Howells Society to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Howells´ death.  The world premiere was given by Duncan Honeybourne at St Mary´s Church, Lydney, Gloucestershire, on July 11th 2008, as part of the 2008 Lydney Festival.  Subsequent performances by Duncan include ones at All Saints Church, Newland, Gloucestershire (July 2008), St Mary’s Church, Weymouth (June 2009), St Michael’s Church, Lyme Regis (June 2009), and the Baptist Church, Lydney (November 2009).
