 Since much of the joy of learning an instrument is in making music with others I tried to provide opportunities for pupils to play not just with fellow stringsters but also for them to join in with singers, recorders (and other wind instruments) and also percussion.

 Sing and Play Along is one of four collections providing occasions to join in classroom work and school assemblies with other instrumentalists and singers, and as well as the violin/recorder book there are also melody versions for viola, cello, voice, flute, clarinet, alto saxophone and trumpet, plus a part for junior percussion.

There is a dedicated website for Sing and Play Along which also includes sound files for all 28 songs.
