'A spiralling decline of biodiversity' is a phrase from the first part of Sir David Attenborough's new book A Life on Our Planet. I took this phrase as a refrain, and constructed a polyphonic and choral piece on the dangers to our civilisation. Sir David has written to me to say that he is happy for me to use this phrase. Since he is a famous son of Leicester, I hope to interest a local choir in it, Covid-19 permitting.
